What is BacklinkGPT?

BacklinkGPT is an AI link-building agent for business owners who need backlinks and brand mentions but do not have an SEO team. Instead of selling placements from a fixed catalogue, it researches pages that could realistically link to you, finds the editor or founder behind each page, drafts a tailored pitch and handles follow-ups, with you approving what goes out.

The product is built by founder and CEO Felix Vemmer and is aimed at SaaS founders, local service businesses and online shops promoting their own sites. It explicitly says it is not built for agencies or link resellers.

Key Features of BacklinkGPT

Automatic site brief

You enter your domain and the agent reads the site to work out positioning, target pages and seed keywords. You review that brief, set a link budget and answer a few questions before outreach begins.

Prospect research with written verdicts

The agent scans search results and competitor backlinks, then labels each page keep, drop or "second look", with a short reason. Directories, spammy domains and direct competitors are filtered out before they reach you.

Contact discovery

For each kept page it looks for the people behind it, such as editors, writers or founders, with email and LinkedIn details, ranked so you pitch the most relevant person first.

Page-specific pitches and follow-ups

Drafts reference what the target page actually published. Messages go out from your own email inbox or LinkedIn profile, and replies land in one place. Every message waits for approval until you switch a channel to autopilot.

Fee negotiation within your budget

Many sites ask for a fee. The agent suggests counter-offers, but every payment needs your approval and is paid to the site owner directly.

Link monitoring and integrations

Won links are re-checked on a schedule, and you are alerted if one disappears or turns nofollow. The agent can also be used from ChatGPT and Claude through an MCP server, and API access is included.

BacklinkGPT Pricing

BacklinkGPT is sold as a monthly subscription with three tiers. A free preview, which shows prospects and a sample pitch, is available without a card before you pay. Plans can be switched or cancelled at any time.

Site fees are not included: BacklinkGPT notes that good sites often ask $75 to $250 per link, paid only when you approve. Extra prospect credits cost $0.03 each if you opt in.

Prices checked on October 27, 2026; check the official pricing page for current plans.

Who Should Use BacklinkGPT?

  • SaaS founders who want to appear in "best tools" roundups and alternatives pages.
  • Local businesses targeting city guides, supplier pages and community sites.
  • Online shops pitching gift guides and product roundups.
  • Small marketing teams that know outreach works but never find time to do it.

Is BacklinkGPT Worth It?

BacklinkGPT is refreshingly upfront about what it cannot do. It does not promise a set number of links, it warns that results take weeks, and it says it will tell you before checkout if your site lacks the content to earn links. That honesty makes it easier to judge fit.

The value depends on your budget. At $149 per month before any site fees, it costs about the same as buying one mid-authority link from a placement service, but you keep the relationships, see every site and send from your own name. If you want a guaranteed link by a fixed date, the vendor itself suggests a pay-per-link service is the better choice. It is also strongest for English-language markets such as the US, UK, Canada and Australia. For founders willing to approve drafts for a few minutes a week and wait for replies, it is a practical way to run consistent outreach without hiring. Details are on the official BacklinkGPT website.
