What is CNC Flow?

CNC Flow is an AI assistant built for CNC machinists, setup technicians and machine shop managers. It answers questions about G-codes, M-codes, alarms, canned cycles and machining calculations, with answers tailored to the specific controller you run. According to the developer, responses are grounded in official manuals from controller makers such as Fanuc, Siemens Sinumerik, Haas, Mazak, Heidenhain, Okuma, Brother, Doosan and others, so operators can get help at the machine instead of searching through thick documentation.

Key Features of CNC Flow

Controller-Specific AI Chat

After choosing your controller, you can type or speak a question and receive an answer that matches that control's syntax and behaviour.

Alarm and Error Lookup

Operators can enter an alarm code to get an explanation and suggested fixes, which helps reduce waiting time for senior staff during a stoppage.

G-Code Analysis

You can paste a program or photograph it, and CNC Flow explains it line by line so mistakes can be caught before the spindle starts.

Tool Database and Feeds and Speeds

Tools and their cutting data can be stored in a library, with automatic speed and feed calculations based on that data.

Job Management and Shift Handovers

Jobs can be tracked with AI-generated setup plans and a part counter, and operators can leave summarised notes on tool wear, alarms or paused work for the next shift.

Engineering Calculators and Image Recognition

Built-in calculators cover fits and tolerances such as H7 and g6, wear offsets and threading parameters, and you can photograph a tool, part or screen for AI help.

CNC Flow Pricing

CNC Flow offers two plans with monthly or annual billing; the annual option is advertised as 30–40% cheaper. The homepage displays the annual prices below.

Prices checked on October 27, 2026; check the official pricing page for current plans.

The app is available in 11 languages, including English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Polish and Czech, and can be installed on a phone as an app from the website.

Who Should Use CNC Flow?

CNC Flow is aimed at operators and programmers who work across mixed controller brands and regularly need quick answers about codes, alarms and cycles. Newer machinists can use it as an on-demand reference while they learn, and experienced programmers can use the G-code explainer as a second check. Shop owners and production managers may value the shared tool database, job tracking and shift notes as a way to keep knowledge available across shifts.

Is CNC Flow Worth It?

CNC Flow is a focused, niche tool, and that is its main strength. Grounding answers in controller documentation, combined with practical extras like tolerance calculators, tool data and shift handovers, makes it more useful on a shop floor than a general chatbot.

There are limits to keep in mind. No free plan is shown on the website, monthly prices are not displayed alongside the annual ones, and the Starter plan's 200 questions per month may be tight for a busy shop. Most importantly, any AI-generated advice about programs, offsets or alarms should still be checked against the machine's manual and your shop's safety procedures before running a part. For shops that already spend real time hunting through manuals, the annual Starter plan is an inexpensive way to test it.
