KIE (Kie.ai)

KIE is a unified AI API that lets developers call video, image, music and chat models with one key, paying per use from credits that never expire.

What is KIE?

KIE (Kie.ai) is an API platform that gives developers access to many generative AI models through one key and one request format. It covers video, image, music, speech and chat models, including families such as Veo, Kling, Seedance, Wan, GPT Image, Nano Banana, Suno, Claude, GPT and Gemini. Instead of setting up accounts and billing with each provider, you top up a single credit balance and switch models by changing a parameter.

It is built for developers and AI SaaS teams that build image, video or chat features into their own products and want lower per-generation costs than calling every vendor directly.

Key Features of KIE

One API for Hundreds of Models

The model marketplace lists hundreds of endpoints across chat, video, image and music. All of them share the same asynchronous task flow, so moving from one video model to another does not require rebuilding your backend.

Credit Wallet with No Expiry

Usage is billed from one prepaid balance, priced per image, per second, per video or per million tokens depending on the model. Credits do not expire, and failed generations are not charged.

Lower Prices Than Official APIs

KIE publishes its rate next to the official or reference price for each model. Discounts vary widely; some models are listed far below the official rate while others are priced at parity.

Playground Testing

Every model page includes a playground where you can try prompts and settings before writing code, using the free credits given to new accounts.

Webhooks and Polling

Long-running jobs such as video generation can notify your server through a webhook when they finish, or you can poll for status if that suits your architecture better.

Coding-Agent Skills

KIE offers installable skills so coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex and Cursor can look up models, read their parameters, submit tasks and fetch results on their own.

KIE Pricing

There is no subscription or monthly fee. You buy credits, with one credit worth roughly half a US cent, and each model has its own published rate. The examples below are taken from the pricing and home pages; check the model list for the exact rate of the model and resolution you plan to use.

Prices checked on October 28, 2026; check the official pricing page for current plans.

Who Should Use KIE?

  • Developers adding AI image or video generation to an app or SaaS product.
  • Startups comparing several models without separate vendor contracts.
  • Teams running high-volume generation who want lower unit costs.
  • Builders using coding agents that need direct access to media models.

Is KIE Worth It?

For developers, KIE is an attractive way to reach many media and language models through a single integration, with transparent per-model pricing, credits that never expire and no charge for failed jobs. The free credits and playground make it easy to evaluate before spending anything.

There are trade-offs. You are adding an intermediary between your app and the original model providers, so availability, model versions and terms depend on KIE as well as on the upstream vendor, and discounts are not uniform across models. It is also a developer product: non-technical users looking for a ready-made creative app will be better served elsewhere. Teams that care about cost per generation and want flexibility to switch models will find it worth testing.
